Being a student of political science, I have been greatly inspired by many political personalities, astute statesmen and national leaders but Late Sushma Swaraj left an indelible imprint on my mind since childhood. Listening to her speeches, was like a therapy for me. Her speeches were soaked in facts and she never favored any false propaganda and populism. As a woman, she was quintessential and remarkable. Despite her ideological differences with many political heavyweights and stalwarts of other parties, everyone respected her as a woman of substance and eulogized her natural effervescence and enthusiasm.

For many young leaders of today, she was not only a legend but an institution in herself.

The irony is we associate every individual to a typical role. For me Sushma swaraj was not a BJP leader but a woman who had the courage and charisma to voice the expression of her soul despite being present in a strong male bastion. Her political opponents feared her audacity and straightforwardness while speaking in Parliament. She was a master orator and there was no parallel to her debating skills. She was known to crumble her political adversaries through her words of wisdom and sharp acumen.

She was a perfect blend of feminism, nationalism, and spirituality.

A woman who knew her strengths remarkably well and used them to build a legacy that every Indian must be proud of.

She was not only ferocious but also fearless in her speeches. She never refrained from speaking her heart out while thwarting any kind of opposition in the wake of protecting the national interests of her beloved nation. She selflessly worked for four decades to serve her nation without any bias, prejudice or self-centeredness.

She was not only a sharpshooter in the political arena but a humble lady when it came to wipe the tears of the needy or help any individual in times of distress and danger. Her tenure as the minister of external affairs changed the entire connotations, paradigms, and terminology of the high-profile ministry and gave it a humanitarian face.

Her famous jibes at Pakistan at the UN are unforgettable and her vivacity in pronouncing the Shlokas in Sanskrit left everybody in awe and bewilderment. She was a media-friendly person and never displayed any arrogance or attitude. She was very active on social media and used it as an amazing platform to help the masses.

She was a woman who had crafted a perfect balance between her professional and personal life. Many women admired her zeal and exuberance while celebrating the festivals; be it Karvachauth, Teej or Diwali. Her husband and daughter never felt unattended.

She had created a perfect harmony by beautifully balancing her political career as well as household duties.

She has left the entire nation in tears and will be remembered as a cult figure in the history of Indian politics. Through this write-up, I want to pay my deepest tribute to the most revered iron lady of our times who taught us how to live and let live. She never compromised on her dignity, values, and self-respect.

We women of India are proud to be the legacy bearers of Sushma Ji who has coined new meanings of women empowerment through her life itself. She will be remembered for her work till eternity.
