Past seems perfect forever,
All is good in that distant life,
The present is a daily battle felt,
Life is now a constant strife!
Past though was a tough call then,
Today it seems the golden age.
Childhood seems familiar and gay,
Then it was just bondage!
Past had father in a roaring rage
We see him now in a smiling frame.
That harsh tone is a gentle voice,
Rosy seems that childhood game!
Past fears have all been won,
The pain of first love is but a dream,
Forgotten are days, when forbidden
To visit with friends for an ice-cream!
Past night stays were a big no no.
Punished for adventures in the dark,
Childhood tales are fairytales.
Memory now is a golden spark!
Past we write as sweet memoir,
Present is always tough to bear.
Little do we pause to think,
Tomorrow's past is today's affair!
