Oh Lord, my God, my All,
No matter what in life may man undergo,
Are all immaterial and small,
It’s only passing, and trivial compared to what you bore!
Man took on him, the curse of blood,
Inhuman- man became in search for power,
And as their hearts grew hard
They spoke and acted, words and deeds so sour.
They pierced my Lord,
And tore his flesh;
Crowned with iron thorns on his head,
And whipped him with a lash.
What shame and affliction
Bore my Lord, for me and you;
He said to Abba Father, ‘Thy will be done’
To save all and make us anew!
O sweet Jesus, O my Jesus,
Preserve me in your sacred heart,
Heal my soul of all transgressions,
That I may serve your kingdom with perfect contentment!
(Wrote the above after being inspiring by reading Mt 27:1-31)
